Reema Lagoo, a well known name in the field of Hindi and Marathi cinema, passed away in Mumbai on 18th May 2017 from cardiac arrest. She was rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai after she complained of chest pain at around 1 pm. However She breathed her last at around 3:15 am due to massive cardiac arrest.
The veteran actress made her debut in marathi film Sinhasan in 1979. After which she continued playing roles of supporting actress. She was popular as on screen mother in hit films like Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke hai Kaun, Aashiqui, Kuchh Kuchh Hota Hai, etc. She also played a challenging role in the movie Vaastav, portraying a mother who kills her own son.
She also won hearts in television serials like Tu Tu Mai Mai which won her the the Indian Telly Award for best Actress in comic role.
Her role in Shriman Shrimati was also appreciated.
Reema Lagoo was married to a Marathi Actor Vivek lagoo, but the couple parted later on. They have a daughter Mrunmayee who is a theater director and also a stage and film actress like her mother.
Reema Lagoo will be remembered always for her prominent roles in a series of films and television serials.
